Lehigh Valley bird sightings for October 31

Here are the Lehigh Valley bird sightings for the week ended October 31. The list was compiled by Dave DeReamus, of the Eastern PA Birdline, which is sponsored by the Lehigh Valley Audubon Society.

Beltzville State Park, Carbon County
Surf Scoter, 1 on October 29.

Bake Oven Knob, Lehigh County
Bald Eagle, 15 on October 24; 8 on October 26.
Sharp-shinned Hawk, 237 on October 26.
Northern Goshawk, 2 on October 24; 1 on October 30.
Red-tailed Hawk, 128 on October 30.
Golden Eagle, 8 on October 24; 20 on October 26; 7 on October 30.
Merlin, 6 on October 29.

Coplay, Lehigh County

Greater White-fronted Goose, 1 on October 28.
Cackling Goose, 2 on October 28.

Allentown, Lehigh County

Peace Valley Park, Bucks County

Upper Black Eddy, Bucks County

Purple Finches and Pine Siskins were reported at several sites this past week.
