Here are the Lehigh Valley bird sightings for the week ended March 24. The list was compiled by Dave DeReamus, of the Eastern PA Birdline, which is sponsored by the Lehigh Valley Audubon Society.

Spotted Sandpiper, 1 to at least March 19.

Albert Road Ponds, Northampton County
Greater White-fronted Goose, 1 to at least March 19.
Ring-necked Duck, 180 on March 17.

Plainfield Township, Northampton County
(at the Grand Central landfill)
Iceland Gull, 1 on March 18 (an adult).

Rusty Blackbird, 3 to at least March 19.
Also seen: Chipping Sparrow.

East Allen Township, Northampton County

Peregrine Falcon, 1 on March 18.

Lapland Longspur, 1 to at least March 21.
Snow Bunting, 2 to at least March 19.

"Eurasian" Green-winged Teal, 1 to at least March 19.

Lake Nockamixon, Bucks County
Canvasback, 7 on March 21.

Peace Valley Park, Bucks County
Red-breasted Merganser, 1 on March 18.
Common Merganser, 328 on March 18.
Ruddy Duck, approximately 80 on March 17.
Also seen: Double-crested Cormorant.

Red-breasted Nuthatches and Fox Sparrows were reported from several sites during the past week.

A Black-backed Oriole, whose normal range is limited to southwestern Mexico, continued to be seen at feeders in yards on Indiana Street near Sinking Spring in Berks County. For details, please click here. The sighting may be the first ever recorded in the United States.
