Lehigh Valley bird sightings for July 8

Common Raven
Here are the Lehigh Valley bird sightings for the period ended July 8. The list was compiled by The Bird House through individual reports to the American Birding Association News website.

Easton, Northampton County
Downy Woodpecker, 1 adult and 3 juvenile on July 5.
Also seen: Rose-breasted Grosbeak (adult male and juveniles), Red-bellied Woodpecker (adult male and juvenile), male Eastern Bluebird.

Bethlehem, Northampton County
Common Raven, nesting pair near former Bethlehem Steel property, July 4.
Peregrine Falcon, 1 adult female and 3 juveniles, on July 1.

Allentown, Lehigh County
Red-breasted Nuthatch, 1 adult female and 1 juvenile, on June 30.

Fountain Hill, Lehigh County
Birds seen: Song and Chipping sparrows, Northern Mockingbird, American Robin, Mourning Dove, reported July 4.

Just so you know: Vacations cut into the volume of bird sightings each summer, especially around the Independence Day holiday.
