Birch birch house returns

It's that time of year again: birch bird houses.

These houses are both decorative and functional. They go equally well on the mantel or in the backyard. The houses are made entirely of bark from white birch trees. The bark is the leftovers from the harvesting of logs for furniture and other items. The peeling bark adds an attractive touch.

The houses are about 7 to 7.5 inches tall and have a hook on the roof ridge for hanging from tree limbs or shepherds hooks. Chickadees and wrens will find them ideal lodging. The houses are made in Greenwood, Maine, in the mountains not far from the northern New Hampshire border.

Unfortunately these houses are manufactured on a seasonal basis only.
They are available for a limited time at
The Bird House, so hurry in!
