Here are the Lehigh Valley bird sightings for the week ended August 15. The listing was compiled by Dave DeReamus, of the Eastern PA Birdline, which is sponsored by the Lehigh Valley Audubon Society. With many birders away on vacation, this week's list is short.

Lake Minsi, Northampton County
Common Loon, 1 from August 11 through at least August 13.

Lower Nazareth, Northampton County
(Gremar Road retention ponds)
Ruddy Duck, 1 on August 13.
Pied-billed Grebe, 5 on August 13 (pair with three young).

Bethlehem, Northampton County
Red-breasted Nuthatch, 1 through the past week at a private backyard.

Leaser Lake, Lehigh County
Black-crowned Night Herons, 2 from August 11 to at least August 14.
