Lehigh Valley bird sightings for February 20

Here are the Lehigh Valley bird sightings for the week ended February 20. The list was compiled by Dave DeReamus, of the Eastern PA Birdline, which is sponsored by the Lehigh Valley Audubon Society.

Saylorsburg, Monroe County
Pine Siskin, approximately 150 through at least February 20 (at a private feeder).

Easton, Northampton County
Redhead, 5 on February 13 and 4 on February 14 at the "Forks of the Delaware."

Williams Township, Northampton County
Short-eared Owl, 1 on February 15.
Harris's Sparrow, 1 to at least February 20.
"Gambel's" White-crowned Sparrow, 1 to at least February 20.
Also seen: Field and Savannah sparrows.

East Allen Township, Northampton County
Rough-legged Hawk, 1 on February 25 (dark morph, seen along Township Line Road).

New Tripoli, Lehigh County'
Rough-legged Hawk, 1 on February 13, February 17 and February 18 (light morph, seen along Werleys Corner Road and also along Bausch Road).

Trexler Park, Lehigh County
Short-eared Owl, 1 on February 14.

Allentown, Lehigh County

Canvasback, 1 on February 17 and February 18.
Red-breasted Merganser, 4 on February 15.

Lake Muhlenberg, Lehigh County
Redhead, 5 on February 17 and February 18.

Walking Purchase Park, Lehigh County
Red-breasted Merganser, 5 on February 14 and 3 on February 18.

Henningsville, Berks County
Pine Siskin, 5 on February 18.

Gilbertsville, Montgomery County
Bullock's Oriole, 1 to at least February 16 along Oberholtzer Road.
Also seen: Pine Siskin.

Peace Valley Park, Bucks County
Pine Siskin, 4 on February 13.

Also seen in the Lehigh Valley
Bald Eagle and Winter Wren.
