The Lehigh Valley Audubon Society is organizing a field trip to the Great Swamp National Wildlife Refuge in New Jersey on Saturday, June 4.
Located just 26 miles from Times Square in Manhattan, the Great Swamp National Wildlife Refuge is an important nesting and feeding location for more than 244 species of birds, some of which are threatened or endangered.
Mark Boyd will lead the trip. Meet at the Tilghman Square parking lot, close to the Red Robin restaurant in Allentown, at 7 am. or the Park & Ridge lot at the William Penn Highway exit of Route 33 in Bethlehem Township.

Wear waterproof footgear and carry an insect repellant, as mosquitoes, ticks and deer flies may be abundant. Protective clothing from ticks also is advisable, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service recommends.
