Here are the Lehigh Valley bird sightings for the week ended May 16. The list was compiled by Dave DeReamus, of the Eastern PA Birdline, which is sponsored by the Lehigh Valley Audubon Society.

Black-bellied Plover, 6 on May 25.
Whimbrel, 16 on May 25.
Ruddy Turnstone, 1 on May 22 and May 25.
Short-billed Dowitcher, 18 on May 25.
Also seen: Semipalmated Sandpiper.

Bear Swamp, Northampton County
Gray-cheeked Thrush, 1 on May 23.

Jacosbsburg State Park, Northampton County
Alder Flycatcher, 1 on May 23.

Leaser Lake, Lehigh County
Merlin, 1 on May 17.
