Lehigh Valley bird sightings for March 28

Here are the Lehigh Valley bird sightings for the week ended March 28. The list was compiled by Dave DeReamus, of the Eastern PA Birdline, which is sponsored by the Lehigh Valley Audubon Society.

Upper Mount Bethel Township, Northampton County
Red-headed Woodpecker, 4 on March 22 along Bangor Vein Road.

Green Pond, Northampton County

Tundra Swan, 18 through March 25.
Cackling Goose, 1 on March 22
Also seen: approximately 100 Pintails.

Bethlehem, Northampton County

Peregrine Falcon, 2 during the past week.
Also seen: Osprey.

East Allen Township, Northampton County

Gryfalcon (gray morph), 1 on March 26.

Lehigh Valley International Airport
Snowy Owl, 1 through March 21.

Allentown, Lehigh County

Greater White-fronted Goose, 1 on March 22 at Dorney Park pond.
Greater Scaup, 1 on March 23 at Lake Muhlenberg (Cedar Creek Park).

Green Lane Reservoir, Montgomery County

Iceland Gull, 2 on March 23 (a first-winter bird and a second-winter bird) at Walt Road.

Tundra Swan, 11 through March 24.
Double-crested Cormorant, 9 on March 23.

Peace Valley Park, Bucks County

Canvasback, 1 on March 21.
Redhead, 1 on March 21.
Common Merganser, 1200 on March 27.
Red-necked Grebe, 1 through March 26.
Red-headed Woodpecker, 1 through this past week east of Angler's Pier parking area.
Also seen: Red-breasted Merganser, Common Loon, Double-crested Cormorant and Osprey.

Also seen at various locations this week: Bald Eagle, Wilson's Snipe, American Woodcock, Tree Swallow and Northern Rough-winged Swallow.
