First Sighting of Ruby-throated Hummingbird

The first sighting of this year as reported to me was in Danielsville. Last Saturday a gentleman was filling his van for a trip and heard some buzzing nearby. Thinking it was a bumble bee he almost swatted at it but saw that it was a hummingbird ... in his van!

He ran downstairs and got the feeder and filled it with sugar nectar. As he carried it out and went to hang it up, the hummingbird swooped in and started feeding. So Jim stood there holding the feeder while the bird drank. He was thrilled that the bird was so close. Then he thought, "Oh great, now I'm going to be late."

Keep your eyes (and ears) open, they may be right around the corner!
