Here are the Lehigh Valley bird sightings for the week ending April 19. The list was provided by Dave DeReamus, of the Eastern PA Birdline, which is sponsored by the Lehigh Valley Audubon Society.

Sandhill Crane, 1 seen on April 12 and April 13

Seemsville, Northampton County
American Bittern, 1 seen on April 14

Lehigh Gap Nature Center, Carbon County
Black-and-White Warbler, 1 seen on April 17

Beltzville State Park, Carbon County
Red-necked Grebe, 3 seen on April 12; Warbling Vireo, 1 seen on April 17. Also seen: Red-breasted Merganser, Great Yellowlegs, Blue-gray Gnatcatcher and Pine Warbler

Leaser Lake, Lehigh County
Long-tailed Ducks, 5 seen on April 17; Red-necked Grebe, 1 on April 13; American Bittern, 1 seen on April 13. Also seen: Solitary Sandpiper, Least Sandpiper, Greater and Lesser Yellowlegs, and Cliff Swallow

Northern Goshawk, 2 seen on April 14

Green Lane Reservoir, Montgomery County
Horned Grebe, 28 on April 17

Peace Valley Park, Bucks County
Surf Scoter, 2 on April 17; Eared Grebe, 1 on April 17 (first recorded in Bucks County), Common Tern, 1 on April 12, Caspian Tern, 1 on April 13. Also seen: Red-breasted Merganser, Wilson's Snipe, Purple Martin, Red-breasted Nuthatch, Pine Warbler and Vesper Sparrow.

Merrill Creek Reservoir, New Jersey
Mississippi Kites, 2 on April 13

Reports from several sites this week: Bald Eagle, Red-shouldered and Broad-winged Hawk, Merlin, Green Heron, Spotted Sandpiper, Bonaparte's Gull, Chimney Swift, Hermit Thrush, Brown Thrasher, Palm and Yellow-rumped Warbler, Louisiana Waterthrush and Eastern Towhee.
